Westport Post Office Box Scheduled to Move

The Saugatuck Detached Post Office Box Unit, currently operating out of a trailer at 20 Saugatuck Ave., had been scheduled to move into a permanent space at 25 Franklin St.

Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff said he has received notice from the United State Postal Service that it intends to relocate the Saugatuck Detached Post Office Box Unit to 25 Franklin St.

In a Jan. 23 letter, Joseph J. Mulvey, real estate specialist for the Postal Service, informed Joseloff that the facility, currently operating out of a trailer at 20 Saugatuck Ave., had been scheduled to move into a permanent space at that location.

“We believe this new site will provide the community with an efficient, modern facility that offers a safe working environment for our employees and a level of service expected by our customers,” Mulvey said.

He said comments on the selected site may be received within the next 30 days addressed to his attention at 2 Congress St., Room 8, Milford, MA 01757.
